King K9 Academy in Richmond, Maine offers board and train programs on a 15-acre working farm, where your dog is trained personally by one experienced professional in real-world conditions.

Our training approach goes far beyond what typical programs offer. Your dog trains around sheep, chickens, and ducks. They work through open terrain, a training barn, and a confidence course. And when they’re ready, they go on field trips to midcoast towns and stores to practice their obedience in public. The result is training that holds everywhere — not just on the trainer’s property.

We take only three dogs at a time. This isn’t a kennel with rotating staff and a packed schedule. It’s personal, focused attention from a trainer with 20+ years of experience, Ivy League-level study in animal behavior, and mentorship from world-class trainers.

Programs range from a 1-week Puppy Head Start to a 3-week Complete Program for off-leash obedience and behavior modification. All programs include professional equipment, owner transfer lessons, and complimentary pick-up within our service corridor.
