Bird dog working real working farm distractions at King K9 Academy

Board & Train Programs Near Cape Elizabeth, ME

For Cape Elizabeth, South Portland, and Scarborough dog owners who want serious results, King K9 Academy offers a board and train experience that’s fundamentally different from anything available closer to home. Our 15-acre working farm in Richmond, Maine — about 50 minutes north on I-295 — provides the kind of training environment most programs simply don’t have.

Your dog trains around real livestock, in open fields, through wooded terrain, and in a purpose-built training barn. When they’re ready, they go on field trips to midcoast towns and pet-friendly stores. By the time they come home to Cape Elizabeth, they’ve been tested in more environments and around more distractions than most dogs encounter in a lifetime.

Every dog is personally trained by Joshua Antell — no assistants, no hand-offs, no junior trainers learning on your dog. We accept a maximum of three dogs at any time because real training requires real attention. This approach, combined with 20+ years of professional experience, is why King K9 Academy has earned over 50 five-star reviews from clients across southern and central Maine and locations as far away is Washington DC, Delaware, New York and Marthas Vineyard.

We offer complimentary pick-up service within our Portland-to-Waterville corridor, so getting your dog to and from our farm is easy. Programs start at $1,650 for puppies and $4,750 for the full off-leash obedience program. Equipment, lessons, and ongoing support are included.
